“Destination HBCU Community Drumline Showcase”

#Flight2022

The event we are hosting is a drumline/dance showcase that is enriched with HBCU culture and excellence. Created 2 Play is hosting in Augusta, Last year we had an awesome line up that consisted of,  Atlanta Drum Academy who is most recently known for their worldwide 1st place win in the Trick or Beats virtual battle hosted by The Drumline Network as well most notably known for their television appearances on Steve Harveys- The Little Big Shots.  This year we will be hosting award winning percussion lines from all over!!! Already confirmed to perform this year is: The Atlanta Drum Academy (Little Rascals) “, Shark City from Norfolk, VA., Toxic Community Drumline from Kingstree, SC., Drum Nation from Tuscaloosa, AL., Faiths Place from West Palm Beach, Fl and MORE!! Each organization will provide dynamic showcases highlighting the hard work, skills and dedication of the students in our programs. The occasion itself exposes them and their talents to HBCU recruiters, potential scholarships, Greek organizations and much more.  We also have an amazing surprise this year…. WE HAVE BENEDICT, EDWARD WATERS AND FORT VALLEY all locked in ready to come to our city!!

Why are we hosting this event?

Well I am glad you asked! We are hosting this event to expose the students in our community to HBCU traditions and excellence through visual art representations. Each child that attends the show and boards Flight 2022 will experience a power filled exciting showcase that’s loaded with not only performances from the GREATEST community organizations and HBCUS but also knowledge will be poured continuously throughout the event. The mission is for every child onboard Flight 2022 exits the building with a HBCU as their destination in mind.

In attendance last year we had over 400 guest that’s attended our DRIVE IN style community shows case! Guest seating followed social distancing guidelines. The organizations invited were  be tested prior to departure as stated in the agreement. We had staff on duty for traffic control as well as made sure everyone was appropriately distanced and MASKED. We want this to be an amazing experience for our students as well as guest students so we will follow these guidelines for this years show as well. . College recruiters will also in attendance for possible scholarships on site.
